My story as a developer, like many others, does not start with coding. I went to college at the University of California, Irvine and graduated with a B.A. in Public Health Policy. I had always thought my career path would be in healthcare administration. However, I found that the administrative aspect of the industry was not in line with my own goals.
I began looking for other career opportunities, and one word kept popping up - tech. As broad and vague as the word is, tech is no longer just a field to work in, but a part of life, and I wanted to be a part of it. Upon my first line of code, I was hooked. The immediate gratification of seeing the results of my work, whether it be correct or incorrect, was a phenomenon that I was not used to, but immediately wanted more of.
Completing the Accelerated Web Development Program at LearningFuze helped solidify my love for problem solving and provided me a strong foundation in JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, and much more. Working on both solo and group projects has made me a more well-rounded programmer, and has opened my eyes to the advantages of the planning processes associated with the AGILE methodology. Each and every day I program affirms my passion for development.
I hope to bring my newfound array of skills and hunger for knowledge into my next opportunity. I would love to hear from you how we can work together. Please contact me below!
